The contract notice state that MAG Airport Ltd intends to put in place a Major Capital Works Framework for use by ‘MAG entities’, including but not limited to Manchester Airport, East Midlands Airport and London Stansted Airport.

Manchester Airport is the site of significant ongoing upgrades to its infrastructure, while Stansted (pictured) recently obtained planning permission for expansion plans that will see it handle 43 million passengers a year, up from the current cap of 35 million.

Works in the North include Manchester and East Midlands airports, while works in the South include Stansted.

The estimated total value of the framework excluding VAT is £700m.

The framework will be for an initial period of five years, with the option to extend each subsequent year up to maximum duration of eight years. According to the contract notice, the envisaged maximum number of participants to the framework is 48.
